The Paul Cutler Taekwon-Do Academy is the pinnacle of training; there are no short cuts to get results. Only blood sweat and tears will achieve the ultimate goal.
Master Paul Cutler teaches authentic Taekwon-Do as formulated by Taekwon-Do’s founder, the late General Choi Hong Hi. The complete Martial Art, its beliefs customs, culture, method and ideology which all have equal importance as the physical movements; for without these Taekwon-Do’s true identity would be lost.
Taekwon-Do is a complete Martial Art and like any true martial art will take more than a lifetime to perfect. Therefore, it becomes a life challenge. By continually striving to achieve perfection you develop the ability to overcome many obstacles in other areas of life.
Master Paul Cutler has been studying Taekwon-Do for over 30 years his mentor and career long instructor is the legendary pioneer Grandmaster Rhee Ki Ha, known as the Father of British Taekwon-Do
Master Cutler is a fully qualified 8th Degree International Master Instructor and has been honoured and awarded best instructor in Britain by Taekwon-Do founder General Choi on several occasions.
All clubs have the BTC Child Protection Policy in place
Teen & Adult Taekwon-Do Classes - 13 years and older (generally), this is the Martial art, no games from this point on! (well maybe!) Taekwon-Do is a good all-round fitness program, it is a self challenge. People are always striving to improve, get fitter, develop and learn. It is because Taekwon-Do permits us to do this at our own pace there is no age barrier – although you could be taken out of your comfort zone a little during class! The more you put in the more you get out.
Children Taekwon-Do Classes are for 6 to 12 year olds (generally) and are as such tailored towards this age group, again working on motor skills and co-ordination with a higher level of Taekwon-Do content, discipline and skill games.
Day Care and Nursery – is a specialised class run as an introduction to Taekwon-Do. The martial art is not the primary concern, the main aim is to encourage the children to interact with others, develop co-ordination and motor skills through fun and exercise but still balancing this with the sense of order and discipline associated with the martial art.
Alternative Classes - Master Cutler conducts and will organise short courses, workshops & modules.
Kikfit – aerobic type exercise class to music, the music depicts the pace of the workout; we start off soft and gentle for warming up and stretching, then the pace picks up a little for a the aerobic ‘kikfit’ section. The aim of this class is exercise, general toning, strengthening and flexibility in a fun manner but also learning an element of self defence. The exercises are based on martial art 'workout' which is considered as one of the best training programs. The class is structured and tailored to the individuals involved no matter what their ability or level of fitness may be.
Self-Defence - a course of practical effective techniques designed to deal with most types of harassment both physical and verbal and to improve your awareness of potential danger, understanding fear and making it work in your favour. Learning to defend against an attack or perhaps free yourself from a grab and ultimately develop counter-attack techniques to use in an appropriate situation.
The advantage of the course is the simplicity of the techniques taught and the emphasis on technique, not strength, therefore anyone can take part regardless of age, strength, sex, although ideally there is a lower age limit of 13 years.
The course can be geared to suit the client’s requirement e.g. Time, location, duration etc. although the basic skill sets are the same.
Course time 8 hrs (constructed to suit needs)
